Welcome to the Constellations Center for Education in Computing

The Constellations Center for Education in Computing at Georgia Tech fosters the expansion and improvement of computing education. It's a big problem, and we approach it from many angles: the classroom, teacher training, pedagogy research, policy advocacy and more.

Since 2017, the Constellations Center for Education in Computing has been on a mission to expand access to computer science education to underserved communities.  Constellations was created to touch every section of the education pipeline. We are currently working in Atlanta Public Schools with a goal to partner with schools around the United States.

We are a center focused on increasing education in computing. But we are so much more than that. We bring people together. We are a think tank engaged with policy-makers. We support administrators, teachers and students, creating new opportunities for students who dream of a life in tech. We are a national leader for research and advocacy. We believe that together, we can democratize computing.

Who We Serve

Educators

Housed in the College of Computing at Georgia Tech, Constellations investigates, radically challenges and improves the ecosystem that impacts students of color and other students who have been underserved, in their pursuit of education, identity and careers in computing.

Students

We work to democratize computing, foster an engaged citizenry, and connect people with opportunities in tech.

Our Programs

BridgeUP STEM

BridgeUP STEM at Georgia Tech provides opportunities for low-income or first-generation high school students from the Atlanta area to enhance their computing coding skills and explore different aspects of computing research from Georgia Tech faculty, graduate students, and Georgia Tech undergraduate computing majors.

The year-long program exposes aspiring high school and undergraduate computing researchers to experiences, inspiration, and opportunities afforded by the program’s location in an elite research university.

Computing Education Project

Our Computing Education Project supports students and teachers in Atlanta and across Georgia to build a better and more accessible computing education for everyone.

The Collective Impact of Creative Technology program at Georgia Tech is a bold initiative to increase access to education and careers in creative technology for first-generation and socioeconomically disadvantaged students.
