About the Center
The Constellations Center for Education in Computing focuses on democratizing responsible computing education in service of a more fair and just society. In a time of extraordinary technological change, access to high quality computing education is a path to power and viability in modern society. Constellations’ work covers the expansion of access to high quality computing education for students and communities who typically do not have that access, to addressing some of the pressing educational issues of our time – determining the difference between AI for education, and education for AI. We engage with the community of students, education leaders, university faculty, corporations and philanthropists to advance our belief that democratizing computing education is a cornerstone of fairness and justice in a technical world. We do that through illuminating barriers, dismantling them, and leveraging the resources and conviction of Georgia Tech.
Mission
Our mission is to democratize computing education, to make it more responsible, fair and just, to foster an engaged citizenry and connect people with the ever-changing opportunities of a technological age.
We dream a world of student dignity where meaningful participation in contemporary tech driven society is accessible and universal.
"Kids succeeding in computing is not about having talent, it’s about having access."
- Lien Diaz, Constellations Director of Educational Innovation and Leadership.
